Fernhill School’s Board of Governors comprises:

Giuseppe Marini (Chairmain)

Board Position   Board Chair / Director

Background      Giuseppe (Sep) is a restaurateur who owns and operates the Tony Macaroni group of Italian restaurants. In addition to this, Sep has a substantial estate portfolio of franchised businesses throughout Scotland, as well as several established businesses, most notably Nardinis in Largs where he operates in partnership. Sep joined the Board of Fernhill School as Chair in June this year and is committed to leading the group through its ambitious plans for the School.

William B. Hamilton FCCA

Board Position   Board Member / Director

Background      Bill is a qualified accountant who has extensive commercial experience, notably in the hospitality sector.  In his capacity as Finance Director, Bill has regularly negotiated and liaised with government bodies, banks and financial institutions.  In a career spanning 40 years, Bill has held senior financial positions with Stakis Plc, Eagle Taverns, Tony Macaroni and Arianna Properties.  Bill is the advisor to the Board on Finance and also has input into the day to day financial issues with the Head Teacher and Bursar.

Hilda Quail

Board Position     Board Member / Director

Background         Hilda is a retired Quality Improvement Officer (QIO) Education. The experiences and skills she developed within her career, as a classroom teacher, Head Teacher and QIO, enable her to provide sound advice to the Management Team and the Board on all educational matters/issues relating to whole school management, staff development, continuous improvement and the ongoing work of the school.

 

David Equi B.Com (HONS)

Board Position       Board Member / Director

Background         David is a former pupil of the school before joining St Aloysius’ College and finishing his education with an Honours Business Degree at Edinburgh University.  Brought up working in the Equi family business of which he has now been managing director for 20 years he has significantly expanded that business to make it now the biggest ice cream manufacturer in Central Scotland.  David is a business mentor for the Princes Trust charity and a former chairman of the UK Ice Cream Alliance.  The Fernhill connection with the Equi family goes back to 1972 when David’s father was one of the original signatories to the founding Articles of Association of the school and his three sisters are all Fernhill girls.
