The Computing Faculty is modern and forward thinking. Our aim is to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, attributes and capabilities to succeed in this ever-changing world.

We are passionate about enabling our pupils to understand the world in which they live and to develop those critical thinking skills which are essential to enable them to actively
change their future environment for a better, more sustainable world. Our every effort is aimed at ensuring that all pupils who pass through our faculty achieve their full potential in a friendly, inclusive and active learning environment where each pupil is encouraged to be the best they can be in the knowledge that their needs are always met through differentiated learning techniques and the targeted use of individualised learning plans.

National 5 Computing Science
The National 5 Computing Science course encourages candidates to become successful, responsible and creative in using technologies, and to develop a range of qualities including flexibility, perseverance, confidence, and enterprise.

The course comprises of the following 4 areas of study:

• Software Design & Development
• Web Design & Development
• Database Design & Development
• Computer Systems

The course is assessed as follows:
• Externally assessed Question Paper
• Externally assessed Assignment

Higher/Advanced Higher Computing Science

The Higher/Adv H courses highlight the central role of computing professionals as problem-solvers and designers, and the far-reaching impact of information technology on our environment and society.

The courses comprise of the following 4 areas of study:
• Software Design & Development
• Web Design & Development
• Database Design & Development
• Computer Systems

The courses are assessed as follows:
• Externally assessed Question Paper
• Externally assessed Assignment/Project
